Overview

BridgePro LMS was designed and developed over two years to centralise and modernise education delivery for institutions managing thousands of students across multiple campuses. As part of the development team at Innovative Designers, I contributed across the full stack - from Vue.js frontend modules to Laravel backend services.

The platform was built to solve four core problems educational institutions face: manual administrative processes that hinder productivity, fragmented communication between students, faculty, and administrators, limited remote learning capabilities, and a lack of analytical insight into academic progress and financial transparency.

Key contributions spanned the entire platform - implementing role-based authentication, Zoom SDK integration for live virtual classrooms, real-time Pusher chat, assessment and grading tools, lecture scheduling with session recordings, attendance and task tracking, automated transcript and diploma generation, email notifications, a digital library, student journey monitoring, and system-wide analytics.

Role-based access control

Customised authentication and access for students, teachers, and administrators via Laravel middleware and permission grouping - each role sees only what they need.

Seamless Zoom SDK integration for live lectures and virtual classrooms, with custom SDK token handling, lecture scheduling, session recordings archived for future reference, and attendance synced back to the LMS.

Pusher-powered live chat for instant interactions between students and faculty, with channel architecture optimised to handle high concurrent load, plus automated email notifications for important updates.

Quizzes, surveys, and assignments with automated grading, alongside attendance and task tracking to monitor student participation and assignment completion.

Document generation

Automated production of official transcripts and diplomas using conditional PDF logic, plus a digital library providing a repository of learning resources and student journey monitoring for academic milestones.

Comprehensive financial tracking for student transactions with tax record generation, paired with system-wide analytics offering insights into user engagement, academic progress, and platform performance.

Challenge

The hard part

Four distinct technical challenges had to be solved in parallel. Zoom's SDK required custom token handling that wasn't well-documented, and any dropped webhook event meant attendance records would silently fall out of sync. Real-time chat started causing data overload as the student base grew. Role-based access needed to cover a wide matrix of permission combinations across students, teachers, and admins. And dynamic document generation - transcripts, diplomas, PDFs - required conditional logic that had to stay maintainable as document types multiplied.

Solution

How it was solved

Zoom integration was built around custom SDK token generation with webhook-driven attendance writes to guarantee consistency under load. The Pusher channel architecture was restructured to scope channels per session, reducing fanout significantly. Role-based access was implemented as composable Laravel middleware groups with matching Vue.js route guards - adding a new role variant meant touching one place. Document generation used a conditional template pipeline so new document types could be added without rewriting existing logic.
